Building Useful Monitoring & Evaluation Indicators

A good monitoring and evaluation indicator is precise, realistically measurable in the field, and directly linked to a logframe objective. Too many M&E frameworks accumulate indicators that cannot be reliably collected over time. A small number of well-defined indicators, with a clear means of verification and a realistic collection frequency, is far more useful than a long theoretical list.
