How to Choose the Right Chart for Your Dashboard
November 04, 2025 · 6 min read
The right chart depends first on the question you are answering. To compare categories, a bar chart remains the most readable option. To show change over time, a line chart is the natural choice. For a breakdown, stacked bars are often clearer than a pie chart, which becomes hard to read beyond three or four categories. Avoid clutter: every visual should answer one clearly stated question, with a title that states the takeaway rather than just the data label.
